In South Africa, the quintile system categorizes public schools into five groups (Quintiles 1-5) based on the socio-economic status of the surrounding communities. This classification is primarily used to determine how much government funding each school receives, with schools in less privileged areas (Quintiles 1-3) receiving more funding and being designated as no-fee schools. Schools in wealthier areas (Quintiles 4 and 5) may charge fees. 

Vaalpark High School is a Quintile 5 school and school fees are therefore compulsory.

School fees for 2025 are R17 500,00 per year, or R1 750,00 per month, payable over 10 months.  School fees are payable in advance as from January 2025.
